It isn't a cold now, it's flu - I've just dragged out of bed to catch up with a few people (& wish MoFoLo a happy birthday). Can't look at the screen too long as my eyes hurt
I've been having Beechams Powders twice a day & a glass of brandy next to me all the time.
Anyway, sorry but gotta go!
Now you just take loads of care driving in this 'orrible white stuff
Good morning

Hiya!
Feeling a whole lot better now - just left with the cough I had left over when I had a virus before Xmas (throat cough, not chest)
Piece of anniversary ? Made it in my non-existent oven last night. with a small shot of (your choice)? Just to celebrate my 2nd wedding anniversary (2nd time around )
Hope the weather ain't too bad down your way - mainly sleet round here &, as I haven't been out for a week, I'm not sure what the temperature is like
You ?
Find out more from my journal
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 3, 2005

You're feeling better. Good !
Thanks for the Lovely
Maybe a please. Congratulations on your 2nd Wedding Anniversary.
That's cotton or china I think
Cold here and very windy. Remember to put on your lip gloss when you go out. Don't want any chapping
Journal ? In a mo. I've 2K posts to read through. Hell.
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 3, 2005
Yep! Hot toddies are marvellous
Still got wracking cough & temp keeps going up & down - but I am now fed up with moaning about it
When we go away I hate the thought of coming back to my inbox - there's usually about 5 to 600 mails after just 2 weeks - most of it junk. However, I have to be careful & go through each one's titles, because I am secretary to the art society I get possible future members, etc., contacting me after they've seen our website
I'm afraid the kitchen is my: last Xmas, Valentine's, Anniversary & Birthday (v. soon) presents all "wrapped up" in one However, we have managed to break some china this week
Friday tomorrow - then the weekend - looking forward to it?
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 4, 2005

I am staying free from this virus. Drinking plenty of
What do you think of this bird flu.
Heard the news and guess I won't be one of the lucky ones to get the jab
Well done with your china breakages. Greek meal or blazing row ?
This week-end will be fun. I think the boys are taking me to see Meet the Fokkers. Hope it's suitable for me
What about you....doing anything nice ?
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 4, 2005
I actually went out today - just across the road - literally! I was out for about 15 minutes - that was enough
Can't take - citrus drinks & fruits (oh, nor coconut) give my mouth ulcers (just like my father!)
Hmm, not keen on the sound of the bird flu, but I wonder how inflated the story is getting? However, going by world viruses, etc., I suppose it is about time we had another population decreaser
I shouldn't think I'd get the vaccine either - it would probably be the children, those in the services & authority that would be the first beneficiaries. Weaklings, like myself, just may be last.
"Brain the size of a planet, but do I get the vaccine?"
neither - both accidents! Just means we'll have to buy each other a new piece when we are sorted - anni. presents sorted
Have you checked the rating of the film? Careful not to embarrass the boys
Electricians didn't come today, but should be here tomorrow morning. Apart from that - nothing. I think we need time to get over this cold thing & the other half will have to start on the kitchen again when the electrics are done. I will give him time off to watch the Australian Grand Prix though
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 7, 2005
Helloo
Enjoy mother's day ?
I took the boys to rugby, then picked up my dad, auntie and uncle. Auntie brought a 5 year old bottle of damson wine, and we all sat round the fire sipping the crimson nectar. Heaven.
A friend brought the boys home, and after the usual roast lunch, it was more wine while the boys washed the pots.
Tea time, boys toasted crumpets and we had homemade strawberry jam, (courtesy of auntie).
Dad bought me and the boys gave me so all in all, I was thoroughly spoiled and had a wonderful day.
Mouth ulcers are very . what's in the coconut ? Didn't realise they were acidic - or are you allergic to them...
Docs and nurses are first in the Q for the bird flu vaccine, then I think those in key areas. Tube and train drivers I expect
I have a cough. I hope I'm not coming down with your virus. Lets not share our cups eh
Hope himself enjoyed the Grand Prix. Who won...oh, don't tell me !
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 7, 2005
Good afternoon!
My first time out for 2 weeks: we have just returned from THE shopping trip (including my mother's shopping) - I do hate shopping, for food that is
How was the film? Really pleased you had a good mother's day, I'm afraid mine was just like any other - Liz lives a good distance & at present, for obvious reasons, we can't have company here as there's no room
Your anutie sounds an absolute gem & your boys sound really brilliant too - you lucky thing
Haven't a clue about the coconut - if I brush my teeth immediately after eating it then I'm OK - some mysterious ingredient I suspect
Ha! I warned someone else on hootoo about computer viruses mutating to the human species
Are you sitting down? I'll tell you who won ....... Fisichella for Renault, 2nd Ferrari - Barrichello, 3rd Renault - Alonso
Yes, Michael Schumacher crashed & smashed into another car so he was well out of it - yes, yes, yes
Here's a freshly washed, disinfected & dried with a very clean tea towel cup of for you,
Have a good evening
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 7, 2005
Thank you for germ free Mmmm delish.
Once upon a time F1 race was something to look forward to. But now......
The film was fine. Not as good as Meet the Family. Boys thought it brilliant
They managed to slurp their way through 2 XL popcorns, 2 hot dogs dripping with tomato sauce and 2 nachos. Yuk.
I confined myself to a bag (large) of pick n mix
Oh, just had a thought, can you eat bounty bars
You have a good evening
Food. Can't bear thinking about it
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 7, 2005
Hi again ... I am SO excited ... I've just got to tell someone ... that being you
We just opened the K***oggs Corn Flakes 1kg Box & found a ... Dougal from the Roundabout
Bounty bars - when the diabetes allows & as long as I clean my teeth immediately - it is very odd, but my father was the same
My husband agrees about the F1, except for the British Grand Prix because the track is wider, thereby allowing for overtaking, whereas all the others end up as a procession (with the blessed cobbler winning every time )
Our food consists of m/wave meals & cold snacks at present until ... "the kitchen is finished"
You managed not to embarrass the boys then?
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 7, 2005
Dougal ! Wow !! What can I say.....
Doncha just miss Magic Roundabout.
Do you have to inject insulin or do you just watch your diet. God, it must be awful for you with m/wave and cold snacks.
Watch your levels won't you ! Testing lots every day I hope.
Made me wonder about what's in a bounty. Apart from the choc and coconut I mean. Oh, and the Es.
What's for tea/dinner/supper tonight ?
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 7, 2005
Yes I do miss the Roundabout - they've made a film recently I think, but I'm not sure it would be the same. Probably not as innocent, although alot of people didn't think it was that innocent, ahem - I'm sure I don't know what they meant
I keep collecting the little plastic toys from the cereals we have, but I NEVER get a whole set
Inject insulin, had it since I was 11, that's 38 years now
I test 4 times a day anyway & am reading all the carb levels on the boxes, so I have a fair idea of what's going on It was the cold that threw things awry, but getting over it now.
Just the coconut is the problem - same if I eat real coconut or anything cooked with coconut - it's a puzzle
Well, we had lunch at Waitr***, so we'll keep it light tonight, not sure yet - I really fancy a Chinese Takeaway, but that'll have to wait for another night
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 7, 2005
The Magic Roundabout....I used to watch it with friends from college when we were sharing a house. 5 minutes of hilarity I was the in thing to do. In mitigation, it was a long time ago
Good old Dylan/Dillon . Can't remember the spelling, and I'm far tooo lazy to go googling
Takeaways. Love em.
Ooooh, you've got your big one coming up next year
Take deep breaths and stay
??
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 7, 2005
Wasn't Dylan/Dillon a rabbit? Dougle was the Could start a new thread here
So that's what you students get up to, eh? I know my daughter & her now husband used to watch any rubbish going & read rubbish newspapers - I can understand they needed to rest their brains - same with you, eh?
What were you studying at college & where?
Had cheese & biscuits with salad & pickle &, of course,
Oh bother , I thought other people wouldn't be able to count - might as well drop a little hint here: my birthday is on Friday I just don't know where the years have gone - I seem to have spent most of the past 26 years in a whirlwind called "my daughter" & "other stuff" ... remains
for the
See you tomorrow with a
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 9, 2005
Godd morning for you and for me
Dougal, a shaggy dog who lived on a strict diet of sugar
An eccentric bouncing character called Zebedee, who would announce his arrival with a 'boing';
A rabbit named Dylan, who could have been accused of growing something considerably stronger than carrots in his vegetable patch;
Ermintrude the pink cow,
Florence, Brian the snail and their friends in the Garden.
Yes, got up and googled
Magic Roundabout memories - good thread somewhere there
Are you this Friday ? on you ?
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 9, 2005
for the So you're on the kick are you - hope it works & keeps you healthy
Very well googled!
Hmm, suppose we could start a thread whereby everyone takes on a character? Sheer chaos Shame you can't get sounds & music on here too ...
Friday - I have a hospital apptmt - my husband needs to see his ex-m-i-law - she's seriously ill in the same hospital & it doesn't look good We have an art society meeting in the evening & I'm going to miss most of Red Nose Day - what a birthday
I'm really looking forward to this time next year - I think we've agreed to go back to Egypt for a couple of weeks - possibly taking in our Anniversary & my birthday, if we can swing it I was thinking of a party next year, but I don't think I want everyone knowing my true age just yet - afterall I am still only 26
I'll bring in an assortment of cakes first thing on Friday - so wear something loose round your waist
I went to a technical college to learn to be a "proper" secretary after my 'O' levels. I had wanted to do a photographic course, but my father thought he had to buy all the equipment & regarded it as "too expensive" So unfortunately I never had the experience of getting away from home early - I'm really pleased my daughter has though.
gotta - letters & phone calls to make
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 9, 2005
Hi !!
Just popped back home for some lunch (soup) and having a quick look in here. Drat, just spilled on the qwerty.
Friday is red nose day ? For one precious moment I'd forgotton. Boys are out nearly all day with collection buckets. They, the boys, are going dressed as Gawd help us.
Oh, so looking forward to the Is there as well ? I can provide the Oh, all right, the brandy if you insist.
I did a biology degree, then business management, then teacher training, and then whoopsie came along. I really just wanted to be a permanent student
Have a quick look at what else I've got to read, then dog walking and Waitrose
Good morning
Shirps Posted Mar 9, 2005
Hiya
We had a m/wave jacket potato with cheese & baked beans. Tonight we had W/Rose m/wave beef in ale with veg - not bad considering
You MUST get a photo of them dressed as s - have they got beards?
I'm sure I can find a bottle of ... rummages under the stairs, raking out pots & pans in storage ... if there is any brandy going it would be
My husband did a zoology & botany degree & he then went on to teach - biology at secondary school & then adult education. I'm afraid I did everything the wrong way round: married at 19, daughter born at 22 & split from her father a year later!! I never had time to think any further - c'est la vie
A friend of mine has taken Open University courses for years - I've lost track of exactly what exams he has passed, etc. It has become his hobby & would be lost without studying
Gotta go & watch Red Nose Fame Academy - aren't I?
Good morning
U1250369 Posted Mar 10, 2005
Hiya,
Tiffin time and and brandy Just a little - no Bounties
No, the boys don't have beards !! *I* don't like them (beards, that is)
Designer stubble is more their thing
I have drawn the line at pierced ears.
Enjoy fame acadamy. Whatever it is
Looking forward to tomorrow ?
Hope you get a decent meal.
