Life in the West
So here I am holed up in Calgary for what might be a very long time. No I am not a cowboy. I don't even own a pick-up truck, although there are quite a few of them around, some even carrying hay-bales, so you can't deny the city's heritage.
Calgary - home of the hootin', hollerin' Stampede, line dancing without dishonor and bars that accept Canadian Tire money on par (regional thing). A place where chicken and fish are generally considered Vegetarian cuisine. Well heck, if we weren't supposed to eat meat, then animals wouldn't be slow, stupid and easy to catch. All in all, every day is an adventure.
The best thing about Calgary is that there are so many great places to get away from here within a very short drive. Cow-town does have it's highlights, however my heart always turns to the Rocky Mountains which glitter dreamily on the horizon - ahhhhh. Western Canada is a truly great place to be. So anyway if you are out here on a visit, drop me a line and I'll start stewin' up some chili;-)
