Clash of the Titans

This is the best thing I've heard all week... a mate of mine was telling me about how, at Primary School, him and his friends used to re-enact bits of the Ray Harryhausen stop-motion film 'Clash of the Titans'. I'm sure you know it smiley - smiley

The thing was, they were only young, and hadn't quite got the right end of the stick.

So they spent quite a lot of time arguing over whose turn it was to get to be 'Clash'...

The best thing I've seen in ages, right...

A link I picked up off Bassman's personal space - I think I'd heard of it somewhere before, but the first time I've seen it. This link should show you my personal space translated into cockney...

Which I think rather bleedin' well suits it!

You can also get it translated into Swedish Chef...

Reverse lyrics

When I get back to London, there's talk of starting a band, and mainly starting out doing cover versions. I had a sort of idea about trying songs we don't particularly like, but reversing the lyrics. Like - and this is an idea that first popped into my head when I was fifteen, mind:

Bring me up to the useless village
Where the mud is brown and the blokes are minging

I hate you - now just f*** off!

Any good, or shall I just abandon the project now? It's a bit Mark and Lard and the Shirehorses, but is that necessarily a bad thing?

Now, here's a thing

I went to IKEA the other day. I know, I'm not proud. But I'd broken the thing in the bathroom to keep teethbreesh in, and it's on the inventory so I had to get a replacement.

Of course, I ended up in the old Swedish shop on the way out. And here's the thing. Beer in Sweden's really expensive, right? Of course, it can't cost much more than anywhere else to make the stuff, it's mainly the tax. But they were selling this stuff called Spendrups Old Gold, pound a bottle, and it's really nice. And I looked at the label, and unlike most so-called Scandinavian lagers, it does seem to be actually brewed in Sweden.

Odd. They can't be making any money on it. Can they?

The best question I've ever been asked...

"Drew, can you ring up Rotherham United and see if you can get two tickets for the Northampton game for the Chuckle Brothers?"

Of all the minor brushes I've had with fame while I've been up here, this is my all-time favourite smiley - biggrin
