Aye, Shirps, that sounds like good oldfashioned reason to me, LOL!

Especially this part I know far too well: "New people always think they can do something, without checking to see if it's been tried before."

As I understand it, the aces are a group of computer-wizzards always able and willing to help you if there is something here on h2g2 you don't understand. I have been helped by two of them: Shazz and Lisa - yes: both women (well Lisa is actually a girl, and a very young girl I might add).

You might think that it would bug an aging male chauvinist like me to see the chicks take over - but actually it's a relief! Gives me more time to tend to my hobbies in the galley: Drinking, cooking, drinking, eating and drinking!



PS: Speaking of : I could do with a (nother) bottle of rum...

I'm pouring this bottle of rum down the telephone mouthpiece, which leads to the tele wire, which also sidelines to the modem, somehow they all connect & things go whizzing through the wires to the person you're speaking to - hey presto, you should receive it by Xmas, but remember to hold the earpiece of the phone to your mouth!!!!

Do you think I could become one of these high tech computer wizard "aces"?

Just think, you don't which phone call will be "the one with the rum"!!

Just typed up the art show catalogue tonight, only 137 entries. Stupidly, I've done it all in one go, therefore fingers are clawing down & I think I'll take something on top of the old 3 & half glasses of wine.

EMS= Eosinaphilia-Myalgia-Syndrome (blood, muscle & all the other crap that happens) During the conference call, I had to take charge...a born leader...dang it...the poor gal in charge was lost!There were 40-50 people on the call! The fellow who was to do the meeting was stuck in traffic from the airport & his cell phone was too noisy...in steps Val. It went well....and I found that several other EMSers are also taking the med (that makes me sleepy) with great results! One patient is a Dr. & she was taking demerol for the pain....now she's on the same med as I & she's able to see patients more than 1/2 days now! Whhhhee! Although other things have worked for awhile then stopped...I'm keeping my toes crossed!
Ya' know, I haven't talked to Shellers in a long time! And of course you could be an ACE...you already are, in my eyes!
