An excellent observation, Prof. And on top of that a rare reunion with Pheloxi. How very appropriate. So thank you for that smiley - smiley

Someone picked up Peter from the chapel yesterday morning. I assume he has been cremated now and will be buried in silence by his brothers and sister, but as per usual I don't know anything

This would suit me fine, I don't need a ceremony in a special building to take leave of him. I've done that for months already

His friends - who have now suddenly cropped up - will probably hold a memorial service of some kind at some point.

Without being funny, I'm like the Klingons. The body is just a shell.

The person/s will remain and exist in my heart for as long as I breathesmiley - smiley

I feel the exact same, Prof smiley - ok

And your comparison to the Klingons is very apt. When a Klingon dies his or her fellow Klingons shout a warning to whoever will meet the deceased in the great beyond: Look out, there is a Klingon coming!

In my thoughts I have been shouting warnings to Saint Peter about his namesake smiley - winkeye

Finally! There was an add in the paper saying Peter has been cremated and buried. It was signed by "the family".

So far so good. I am still wondering, though, why no-one has come forward yet to ask for the keys to his house, summerhouse and car plus other items in my possession smiley - huh

Oh well, I'll take the SEP solution on that smiley - whistle

4th Sept' - thought this up tonightsmiley - smiley

Do not cry, because I die.
Smile, because we did before.
Your memory will not forget me.
As I watch over you from above.
Time is just a word, until we meet again.
And smile again, once more in good company.

Time will tell when and if we meet again.
But it is true that he lives on in my memory.
He was a right bastard at times, but firstly so was I and secondly why count those moments when there were so many good ones?

By the way: Are their any rules for when a wake is over? smiley - cheers

smiley - smiley yes, there are rules ..
for first degree relatives about two or three years, second degree relatives a year, third degree about three months

no relatives: about as long as you'd like it to be .. give or take a few minutes.
