The best Devil's advocate I ever heard about was Mark Twain's mother, who felt sorry for the Devil because no one ever prayed for his sins to be forgiven.

Noo the water was mixed with alcohol and compressed under great force and frozen to absolute coldness, so you only need two.

That seems reasonable.

re 269:
Dear Paulh
In posting 262 you said: ”I agree that Kiera Knightly is very thin, but she works in a profession where adding just a few pounds would make her ineligible for some jobs she might want”
In posting 268 I said: “Kate Winslet seems to have kept her natural and healthy looking and not too slim figure over the years - but then she is a very gifted actor. Do you think that comes into the equation, paulh?”
What I meant was: “If the actress is gifted enough maybe she does not have to be as slim as people think she has to be?”

Let's be completely honest guys, all heterosexual men find women attractive what ever shape and size they are We all have our idiosyncrasies, barring some proper wrong uns, there's something that appeals to all. Women spend far too much time obsessing about weight, size etc. when we all like different things, life would be boring if we were all fixated by the stick thin, gargoles on a stick, airbrushed "perfection"
you are shown in magazines.
Perhaps I'm just generalising.

Nah, that sounds about right
People have some times asked me what my "type" is. Looking back I can only answer that she must be either tall or small or something in between, with either white, blond, grey, brown, dark or even black hair and so on and so forth
If memory serves, the only things my female companions have all had in common are a normal temperature and the ability to breathe on their own accord

Beautiful women; blokes are a hassle. You know you get loads of friends when you date a beautiful woman. The ones I hate are the ones that encourage attention. But but ugly ones are not so good either, they expect you to act in a certain way and try and train you.
So, I'd rather be with a beautiful woman for a night than an ugly one for a week.
So there, it all hyperthetical now anyway.

I'm just grateful for whatever, no it's ok Just remembered I'm still married to Mrs Norti, phew, thank goodness for that, I don't have to worry about chasing skirt
Anyway, any woman my age would be old and decrepit like me At least I can rest assured it would just be carpet slippers and cocoa come bedtime, too old for anything else
Honest (Nose growing like pinnocio)

Wots this woman your own age stuff about; that's why you get married so that you can be with somebody your own age.
So if your not married, can you tell me why I would want to date a woman my own age?

Easy, then you don't look like some old fool out with a gold digger, who can't wait for you to be in your box and her off to the sun with her toy boy
Besides at my age I don't need a heart attack trying to keep up with some sexual olympian, as I said, come 10pm it's carpet slippers and cocoa for me. Though I do think it could be an interesting experience to be coming and going at the same time

I was rather glad, and slightly smug now, that it was in the days before AIDS, Herpes and the whole host of other nasties, while I was carrying out my ambassadorial duties in various ports of the world.
