Amusing as this has been, I really have to go. So I wish you a good night's rest and will hope to catch you tomorrow before you leave.

Top o' the morning to you !
I had a good nourishing breakfast with dairy products. An ice-cream cornetto-type thing. My student son is in charge of shopping. It works out very expensive but at least we have an unusual range of 'basics'.
My temperature was normal this morning (a bit high for first thing but normal is normal) which makes me feel I won't be off to the hospital for nothing.
My son was going to get up at a 'reasonable' time today which means that his alarm reverberates through the entire building every ten minutes. It's not his staying in bed but that damn alarm which is irritating.
So apart from that minor irritation (and the foreseeable one of my son asking why I didn't 'make sure' he got up), I'm feeling in a pretty good mood.
So here's breakfast for you and wishing you a nice day.....

Sons! They need their beauty sleep don't they? But I'm really glad to hear that you are not alone out there ( in wherever-land) and that you actually do have someone to shop and so on for you. It's bad enough having to be in and out of hospital, but to have no-one to run errands or talk to at home would make it far worse.
Thank you for the strawberries. Very tasty!
Have a for pudding after your ice cream.

Sounds like yours is slightly younger than mine - they do seem to get a bit better as they age. Did you hear that they say childhood has extended until 30 nowadays? Whereas you and I were all down t' pit or working in t' mill when we were 12.

You are perfectly entitled to be an old grump. Myself, I am decidedly a grumpy old woman - I found myself telling someone else's child off in the supermarket this week.

It was a good sketch wasn't it. I bet you could find it on youtube (you can find anything it seems)
In my case I really did go to work with my dad from about age eight, and got paid for working from 12. He had a pottery factory and he wanted me to learn all the different jobs, so I worked all my holidays until I left college. Being a girl he wanted me to go into a profession, but if I'd been a boy I'm sure he would have wanted me to go into the business with him.

I wish you a speedy return home, and that all goes well. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you. Looking forward to your return.

Strange bloke - oh well, it's over. I don't like controversy or discord. Perhaps I am a coward, but prefer civilised discussion over name calling any day.
ta for the drink, it's lunch time anyway, so that's good!
