I have spent the last part of the day struggling moving things around from one cupboard to another. Now, I have heaps of things in the wrong places and lots of junk to take to the recycling place. I could do with a rest.

Did you ask the things where *they* wanted to be moved to?

I have just woken up and looked at the pile of clothes on the sofa in my bedroom, and a zillion pairs of shoes and shoe boxes
I don't have time to do it today because I discovered that I am supposed to be preparing a pudding for the lunch party I'm invited to. I only found this out at 12.30 last night. So I should really be out shopping for the ingredients.

There was a shoe factory in Russia that filled its govbernment quotas by making one enormous shoe.

The lunch party was a success - the food that the other people brought was *way superior to mine. We started with sushi, and then three further delicious courses. By the time we got to the puds, everyone was very full, and/or had had a few glasses of wine. Quite a bit left over...Chocolate mousse anyone?

Shoes? I wore my favourite lime-green Mustang high-heeled sandals

I enjoy a certain brand of yogurt that tastes like chocolate mousse.
I always buy the same model of shoes. Same color, too.

You chaps are not alone. I think if men are happy with the look and feel of a certain style of shoe or trouser, then they will buy more than one the same. Or the same one each time it needs replacing. I have done this only rarely. Once it was with a fabulous sweater that was just such a perfect colour and the softest lambswool I had to buy a duplicate.
Maybe if it was acceptable for men to wear electric pink high heels with jeans then perhaps they would want to have various styles and colours of shoes as well as women.

But forget the height issue - or even the shape. What if men could choose from a huge range of coloured shoes, and that it was perfectly normal to have say, red shoes, rather than modest black or brown. Do you think that you might own more pairs then?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
