Slack tart? smiley - laugh How on Earth did you know? smiley - tongueout

Our cricket team has just officially pulled out from their match in Zimbabwe...Not that I disagree with them but it's a shame they couldn't have all turned up sporting black arm bands like the two brave chaps playing today. smiley - erm

Oh! You mean the England soccer team losing to the Aussie one? What an absolute classic and sooo funny too! smiley - laugh I hate soccer/footy and find the whole thing hilarious. You should have heard the radio presenter on BBC Radio 4's Today programme this morning, interviewing the Aussie High Commissioner (or some sort of similar diplomatic position and no, he wasn't Sir Les Patterson!). smiley - bigeyes The whole interview was very tongue-in-cheek and apparently the programme are considering running a competition amongst listeners for what we could cremate to make a soccer ashes cup or something along those lines. smiley - cool

Shame about Shane Warne being sent home though...I quite like the old chap and feel ever so sorry for him. smiley - erm The same radio programme as above recently ran a "one in, one out" poll wherein a UK citizen was voted out and a foreign national was voted in as an honorary British citizen. Shane Warne was amongst those elected to be an honorary Pom, but he had to bring the rest of the Aussie team with him too! smiley - winkeye

I heard today that his B drugs test also failed... smiley - erm Oh well...

Shame about Canada's cricket score though and I believe they beat the previous record holder, Canada. smiley - sadface I feel so sorry for them but admire them for having a go...

Yes, i think they need to maybe have two tiers with the winner going through to the main round.

Mind you, they beat Bangladesh

The Six Nations Rugby tournament kicked off here last weekend, so John is a happy bunny what with that and the cricket. smiley - ok

My son Chris has just informed me that he's going to be playing cricket at school next term. I don't like to break the news to him that he seems to have inherited my complete lack of co-ordination as he's so looking forward to it! smiley - erm

John was miffed last Saturday because he had to choose the between England vs Pakistan cricket match and the England vs Wales Six Nations rugby match. smiley - laugh He ended up taping the rugby and watching it later, but somehow it's not quite the same watching a tape...

Mair and Chris returned to school this morning and when I opened Chris's bag to put his lunch in it, I found two Valentine's cards given to him in school from before half term that he never even mentioned to us! John wonders if Chris even understands why he's been sent the cards...Chris was very embarrassed about them and blushed furiously when he returned from school and noticed that I'd put them on display. I think it's Chis's big brown eyes and long eyelashes that must be attracting the girls! Mind you, compared to most boys his age he is very polite and thoughtful so that may be another attraction. smiley - cupid

You & Debs have all this to look forward to... smiley - cool

LOL! smiley - laugh You most definitely have that and your old age to look forward to as well...

*Stretches and several bones emit loud cracks*

I can tell you from experience that getting old not all it's cracked up to be... smiley - zoom Who ever coined the phrase "growing old gracefully" should be taken out, run over by a steam roller and then dragged backwards through several hedges by a team of horses before being given a teenage son/daughter to look after! smiley - cross

*Pushes greying hair from her eyes and peers closely at the monitor over the top of her spectacles*

Is it getting foggy in here? smiley - tongueout

I assume that you'll be watching the England vs Australia match tomorrow? smiley - cool I know! "It's a foregone conclusion!" but maybe not if England wins the toss and smiley - bats first! smiley - zen

England cricket captain has resigned from one day matches and gone for long rest to recuperate and I don't blame him one bit. Poor boy!

Holiday? No media access? Ooooh! Sounds like a real holiday! smiley - cool Wheredya go den and didyavanicetime? smiley - wow
