Warper
I found out about this site from an article in the Guardian, and its great to find a site based in the the UK. My first attempt at a homepage was at Xoom, where I felt I was a statistic in a corporate advertising heaven. I got endless E-mails offering to sell me things that I didnt want,just because my profile put me in some slot, but I refuse to be categorised like that. As soon as I found this site I de-registered and came home to h2g2.
I read THGTTG when it first came out, and listened to the radio series, though my memory of all the details is hazy now (time to read it again?), The Meaning of Liff was standard reading in our loo for many years until it fell apart. It was always good to hear visitors chuckling in there.
I've called myself Warper because my social life over the the past few months has revolved atround The Warp Experience, held every two weeks in arches under London Bridge Station . The Warp is a 24 hour play written by Neil Oram , first commissioned by Ken Campbell and the present production directed by his daughter Daisy. The Warp Experience is much more than the play itself, with two dance floors, a chill out area , healing space, art and installations, films, events. Filled with creative people, many of them giving their talents and time for free, its been described as 'Glastonbury in a cave'. Unfortunately, the run at the Drome in Stainer Street finished on 11 December 1999 but should be starting again in the new year, so visit the website at http://www.thewarpexperience.com/" >http://www.thewarpexperience.com/ and come with an open mind and have a life changing experience, or just a good clubbing night. All ages welcome!
