A mere trivial flirt I had with a tutor upon a late essay submission, I hope it brings a smile to someones face, especially those who have tried to write when in love...

Fabulous!
Witty, clever and all round smart ar*ed. Will you be writing more of these? It would make a great sequence - each week a different excuse written in the style of a different philosiphor.
Reminded me fondly of the many classes we missed and the many excuses given.
Thanks

Thanks for your comments, peeps. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Regarding a series, that might make an excellent idea. I will think about how and indeed, if to approach it - I don't want to over milk a concept!

Thank you so much for all of your comments. You've each given me a real boost!
For the first time in years, I am tempted to begin writing again. In fact, I do believe I am going to.
I don't think I will turn this into a regular series, unless a wealth of ideas suddenly present themselves. I might add to it occaisionaly though...
Meanwhile, off to write...
Yours,
Discus.

I like.
Even being entirely ignorant of the styles of Philosophers it gave me the giggles in several places. Mainly those understated incongruities.

I coulnd't agree more.
I read this first a couple of weeks ago, and then again today.
Smart, fresh and new. It brought a smile to my face on both occasions.

Well done,
Ps: I presume that after all that has been said it would have been difficult for the powers that be, to come up with a good enough excuse not to!

thanks guys, I would be smiling, but, so my doctor tells me, I have ruptured my cheek muscles through beaming (like this: ) too much of late. The corrective surgery will cost approx. £3,200, though he needs to speak to a consultant before he can confirm.
As such, I have filed a lawsuit against hootoo for causing pleasure with the effect of beaming. It's going to be a long haul, but I'm sure I can count on your support through this difficult period.
Yours,
Discus.
