Dizzy H. Muffin Posted May 27, 2004
Hmm ... Okay, that'll work! Now ya just need to wait for us to come up with a quest.

Apollyon - Grammar Fascist Posted May 30, 2004
OK. Do I have to stick to the spell list you make out, or can I invent my own?
Become a character!
Apollyon - Grammar Fascist Posted May 31, 2004
Not really sure...depends on what's going on.

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted May 31, 2004
Gimme an example. I mean, would it be simple variations like Megid instead of Fire3 or a same-effect-but-more-awesome-looking-special-effects deal, or is it something completely different?

I was thinking something more like making weapons out of thin air which disappear when the battle ends, or psychically controlling prison guards, that sort of thing.

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jun 1, 2004
Hmm ... No, the weapon thing is beyond /traditional/ magic, but I suppose you could wing it with the mind-control thing.

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jul 18, 2004
Well, sure. All we need to do now is, er, get a new adventure started.
Become a character!
Uncle_Bob - Back In Black Posted Jul 19, 2004
And how many people do you need to do that?
Become a character!
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jul 19, 2004
Well, the optimal number of party members is around four, although there's plenty of games that have five (Phantasy Star 4, Lunar, Final Fantasy 4) or three (Final Fantasy 7, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger); nearly all action RPGs have one party member, and Final Fantasy XI allows up to eighteen, although this is more along the lines of three six-member parties teaming up.

MeMeMe, I wanna join!
I'm LeonardQuirm (Leonard of Quirm, inventor from the Discworld books), colloquially known as LQ, Lenny, or Falcon (it's my RPG character's name, OK? I don't really care which you call me...as long as it isn't Sheila (GTA:VC is cool)).
Age: 18
Race: Human. I could do with some luck.
Gender: Ooh, he's called Leonard, difficult...Male
Class: Cleric (I'm a weakling). God of choice: The Man in Blue
Magic Colour: Well, white, seeing as I don't have much choice.
Appearance: Erm....I dress in blue, in reverence to my God, am clean shaven, in reverence to my girlfriend (who I leave behind in whichever town I come from) and wear glasses (ooh, lots of possibilities for messing me up).
Invoking my god...super-cool special effects version of Cure Also; if I ask really nicely (and don't expect any more appearances for a little while), he'll use Blue Power...different graphics (you'll see them when it happens), effect of Hyper Light. Is that OK?
And do I get to use other white magic as well? And the odd yellow magic (like making party members stronger), as it says in the description?
I await the next adventure, as I really don't want to read all the stuff so far in the current adventure.

LQ - Just plain old LQ Posted Sep 2, 2004
I've changed my mind. I'm going to force my way into the current adventure!
Become a character!
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Sep 4, 2004
Um, fine. I suppose it'll make as much sense as any /other/ new player character suddenly coming out of fricking /nowhere/ in a D&D campaign ...
Become a character!
LQ - Just plain old LQ Posted Sep 4, 2004
That was about my reasoning, yes...
I hope my previous post wasn't too impolite...I'm sorry if it was. I really haven't been doing too well with tact and etiquette recently...

Uh, you kind of need a class, and actual proficiency. We want to be at least SOMEWHAT realistic here.
