If I have this right, then entries that are subject to a Yikes are removed while they are checked, then re-instated or not according to suitability.
If that is so, could you distinguish between the temporary and permanent removals? E.g. put 'removed pending moderation' or something for the temporary removals. That might cut down on frustrated cries of 'Oi, where's my posting gone?'
And can we have a smiley?

Scrub the last bit - I see it's a smiley already. Can we have one that looks like the button, though?

This is only true if the Moderator is not happy to make a decision and need to refer the decision to someone higher (the Community Team, specifically). As Peta and Abi don't work 24/7 we need to hide the content until a decision is made (which could be a simple 'pass', in which case it reappears again).
We currently don't distinguish between permanently hidden content and temporarily hidden content, as that would entail quite a bit of work. We will probably try to do this in a future release, but for now we will probably have to stick with the current system, or delay the launch further...

Why, so we can talk entirely in smileys of course.
Although I seem to remember when all the new smileys came in the warnings about the extra server load they generate at every opportunity.
Key: Complain about this post
