Entry for Round 4 of The Stretcher (A47534448). As with my last Entry, this is in the AWW only for the competition and will be removed after the judging. I don't expect anyone (except the judges, of course) to actually wade through all of this

Very clever, witty and congratulations on writing a story of this length with double-letter words.
A couple of points:
The sentence beginning 'My brother was died from' should presumably read 'has'.
The sentence beginning 'Apparently Titivillus' ends in printed -no double letter!

"The sentence beginning 'My brother was died from' should presumably read 'has'."
I tweaked that sentence late last night before submitting. Obviously I didn't tweak it enough!
"The sentence beginning 'Apparently Titivillus' ends in printed -no double letter!"
Oh well, there had to be one... Fixed now.

Great stuff.
I'd like to think Bels would have been impressed.

Wonderful. Why do you want to take it out once the stretcher is finished?

Because I don't think it works as a stand-alone story. You need to know the that it was a response to a specific challenge about double letters.

For what it's worth, I think it works as a stand-alone story.
Sure, the idea comes from the challenge, but as an intertextual jeu d'esprit, it definitely works.

I think it works as a stand alone story.
Because we know from the beginning that this is parody, we don't expect the crime to be realistic.

Well, it now seems that I'll lose marks if I remove this from the AWW, so I suppose it's staying!
Many thanks to everyone for their kind comments - they are much appreciated

That's great news, EDanny. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking it would be a shame if you removed this from the AWW.
