475 months is, in fact, 39 years and 7 months. That is my age - and having just spent five hours on a National Express coach, I feel every minute of it.
Still, it's nice to be back at h2g2.

Hello I am 228 months old and I would like to be added as Great Toaster this is due to the fact that I have recently turned into a toaster from Tibet and I am currently trying to find out where the off button is because at the moment I am not able to stop writing let alone put any punctuation into my sentences so I hope this isn't irritating you because it's irritating me and..... AAAAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!! It's the big green toaster-killer from Outer Mongolia! Run for your lives!

Ah, I think you may be lost, my friend. This is infact the SIP. You probably want the SMP (Society for Mad People) which is out of this door, take a left and it's the third door on the right. You can't miss it, it's the one with all the wailing and singing coming from it.
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Nov 15, 1999
No no no no... you misunderstand me... Toasters are up there with the best of them in their ability to irritate.
And I hardly need to say that if I am not allowed to join, I will do my best to irritate everybody this side of the Himalayas.
I once irritated a group of mad people (from the SMP, funnily enough) so much that they went and started up a society called the, now let me think... oh yes, the Society to Irritate People.

KimotoCat Posted Nov 16, 1999
Considering the actual location of the Himalayas, compared to the scattered nature of our own positions on this global village, who are you, Toaster, to know which side of the Himalayas is which?!?
I am the Serene - no, Supreme - no, something awefully promising - Cat and in the Real World - whereever that is - I am a teacher. This results in my ability to irritatingly lecture you down any day!
Purrrr...

Roasted Amoeba Posted Nov 16, 1999
"This" side of the Himalayas, when translated into a language that teachers may be able to understand (with difficulty of course), implies that whichever way you go around the world to get to the Himalayas, I can irritate people either way...
I always hold to this little motto: "If you can't do, teach; if you can't teach, teach the teachers; and if you can't teach the teachers, go into politics."

How many politicians are there in the SIP? I would have thought a vast majority should be. Or is that the SAP (Society to Annoy People)?
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
KimotoCat Posted Nov 17, 1999
What can I say, I am interested in politics...
GOTCHA!
Puuurrrrr

I feel I should be a member. I am 14F months old, but only in Hex.
If you think that's infuriating, bear in mind that I have 30 commision based sales people out in Poland who can't make a sale until I fix this system...and I'm goofing about here instead.
Could a programmer be even more infuriating than a politician?
I think I just might try that.

I am s16(2)(a) of the 1968 Theft Act Months old, and am studying Law. And if being a law student isn't annoying, then I don't know what is.
I should definately be a member, otherwise I'll set s22 on you, and you WILL be annoyed!
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Nov 22, 1999
Bluebottle, I've found that the most annoying thing about these people, particularly the person in charge of the SIP, is that they never seem to check this forum. Consequently, nothing ever happens, like being allowed to join officially, for instance. Ah well... I guess when one is intellectually superior one has to put up with such things every now and then...

I am 204 months old and would like the title of supreme divine sheep
why thank you
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Bluebottle Posted Nov 24, 1999
I think that no-one will challange such a title - especially if no-one's home!
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Nov 25, 1999
Judging by the amount of spider's webs and rats scurrying along the hallways that there are, I'd say no one's been home for a very long time...
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Nov 25, 1999
I'd say people haven't been home for twelve weeks. I think they must have got irritated by all the applications they got.....
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
Bluebottle Posted Nov 25, 1999
Or it's a deliberate ploy to irritate all the people who wish to irritate people.
You, too, can drive people to the brink of insanity! And over!
KimotoCat Posted Nov 25, 1999
Irritating, isn't it!?
