A thought for people who are heading to Mid-Michigan, and who take their beer drinking seriously. Take a ride 30 minutes south of Lansing - or 40 minutes west of Ann Arbor - to the Jackson Brewing Company. It sits right on I-94 at the Sargent Road exit. The place is nowhere near any real signs of life, and yet it thrives. Try any of the made-on-site brews and you'll go back to the place every chance you get. Give yourself a real treat and try whatever beer the brewmaster came up with that month. It's always unique, most of the time it's incredibly good, and they make it a practice to never repeat themselves. That means the day you try a special beer may be the last day you'll ever get the chance. The only warning is that since the Jackson Brewery is located in the middle of farmland, there are no real hotels to crawl to after a night of heavy drinking. You've got to go easy, but I figure that only makes one appreciate the flavor of the beer more.
Believe me, I am in no way connected to these folks. I'm just a guy who's gotten around (the Earth), tried beers in dozens of countries, and figure that I got lucky when I moved within the radius of this place.
