A Conversation for The world's favourite watering holes

The Victoria is one of the last Pubs in Camden not to be "trendified" by people who understand money, but do not understand beer drinking.
There have been a few sacrifices; the designers have got close on occasion, but so far have never set up a base camp. The resulting mix of Junk, Kitsch, Tat and Trivia makes for a great atmosphere. The one bar is central, with a horseshoe shaped area for drinkers.
Comfortable is too strong a word, and lighting is subdued to the point of censorship.
There is a parrot.
And there's Bass.

you could do a lot worse than Scruffy Murphy's in Denman Street, Picadilly. Tiny, tiny place, no frills whatsoever, but just drink the Guinness and die!
or.....

the Alt-na Main Inn. Somewhere north of Dornoch away up in the Highlands of Scotland. There is nothing near it for at least 5 miles in any direction but heather moorland, but it is the most insane party every night! The locals get bussed in, and bussed home, or they can just sleep where they fall! And it has the world's cutest dog.

Oh dear
No Bass; No parrot; not much light; no old junk on walls and ceilings.
The modernisers have got to it.
