well i am reading the fall of lucifer and its certainly different !
its very high flown and ott in its descriptions and i didnt think i was going to be able to continue with it, however, i have got to the part where things start to go wrong and its alot better - i will let you know how i fare with it

Yes it is quite ott in description but tehn I got into teh swing and enjoyed it enormously. Just use your imagination, I kinda read it in my minds eye if you see what I mean. Alsmot finished Gideon Mack...a god read but am skimming bits of it. THen I have one to read about a little lad who is autistic .Fiction but looks raelly good.

have finished the fall of lucifer and it is very differant thats for sure - at first the ott ness of it kinda got to me but I got used to it and it was a good read and rather creepy - am reading the grapes of wrath again you forget what a flamin good book it is and so sad !

Im glad you enjoyed iy lbp. I read A wild ride up the cupboards on hols. A book about an autistic lad, so good I didnt want it to end . The end was sort of inevitable but I still didnt want it to finish. A brillinat read. I also read The Night Listener you lent me lbp.What a book! Full of twists and turns..still wasnt sure at the end what was truth in a fictional sense and waht was fiction if you see what I mean. That reminded me of Paul Auster in a way...talking of whihc havent read anything of his for a while!
Ive picked up A Secret History by Donna Tarttit....tahts her name I think. Really good so far.

oh . . . secret history is wonderful but avoid my little friend ! its not that bad but not a patch on secret history

I'm not very far in but really enjoying it so far. The characters are wellwritten and you can really see it in your minds eye cant you?

you can and it stays in your memory - even tho i dont remember all of it the feeling is still in my minds eye

I can think of afew books like that. You cant remember all the plot but the impression of the book lasts. Tender is the Night does that for me too.

Is that by Steinbeck? I really should read more classics like that.

it is and is marvellous its easy reading too east of eden is my fave but this is nearly as good he is a fab writer !

Ive only read one by her. Trouble is there isnt enough time to read all these books is there? Even if you did nothing but read for the rest of your life you could never read all the books you wanted to could you?

Mmmmm a bit of a drastic move methinks! There is nothing on TV worth watching so after I have finished an ironing stint I shall retire to my bed with a Secret History.

i was fighting the hoover for so long i havent even read the paper yet b thing !
