I humbly suggest clues should be shorter, or with a one-word answer, or with a unique answer (which means shorter anyway).

The problem with setting long anagrams which have multiple word answers is that (as already mentioned) the number of possible answers soon becomes ridiculously high. After just a short time I have managed to come up with the following:
Anal Norwegian Lords
Wagnerian Sonar Doll
Diagonal Narrow Lens
Drowns Linear Analog
If you read through the backlog the original idea was to have anagrams of preferably nine letters leading to one word answers. If you happen to be able to make a witty or amusing phrase in the question then all the better. The reason for this (for UK dwellers) is that it's based on Channel 4's Countdown programme and the Conundrum.
to be a pedant but if we keep to those rules it will stop things getting out of hand
