*other person is about to answer*
I meant the the other person is *about* or present. (Which seems a little silly now that I see your eyes aren't *about*)

I agree zoomer, the election has been discussed to death. Which is why I was surprised that people kept posting incorrect facts about the election. Just because it's been discussed to death, does that mean I should stop correcting people when they continue to post the wrong facts about it?
Only read this is you're interested in the "she did it first, no he did" argument. OK. Post 6950 Saturnine ridiculed me for saying that the US govt doesn't control the media. That's when I began to respond in kind. Who cares?
Anyway this isn't a duel, so I'm not going to wait for her get back online, assuming she can figure that out...she's had problems with that too, hasn't she? No surprise there.
Mycroft- you said the US is still in its infancy, but it has the oldest democracy in the world...at least out of the G7. As a country yes, youngest. The govt itself is relatively old.

I'm sorry to hear about your impotence, crazyhorse. Have you looked into Viagra, Levitra or Cialis? Supposedly (Bob Dole sez) they work.

Yes I know you said the G7 but we are talking about age here, not political or economic clout. As you can see from the above, it is ironic that the US in fact does have the oldest democracy, but it isn't it's own government.

The above is an argument that in fact the US is in fact a Republic but *not* a democracy.

Iceland is in fact the world's oldest democracy, perhaps that is why it isn't in the G7 and a military or economic force. It's people don't want it to be.

And finally, what the US has done to other democracies. Perhaps other countries don't want the same thing to happen to them?

Nice, Mycroft. Redbone, I will ignore the obvious joke with your name, but I call mine Richard. King Richard now and then, but Bill for short.

Nope, Athens had slaves, as did Rome. Not a democracy, early or not.

at least as far as historical definitions go. It doesn't make much sense, but hey, the Phythagorean theorem was also big news back then.
