Sho - employed again!

does anyone know if there's an easy way for people outside the UK to get tickets to watch Man U at home?

Asking for a friend. Really.

She wants to see Schweini and Zlatan play in the same team (although I heard Schweini is on his way to France)

Sho, I have limited experience (none) of having difficulty getting tickets for football. I'm an AFC Wimbledon fan.

I have, with a footy mate, tried to get tickets for some other teams, Fulham springs to mind, and there seemed to be a need to register before being able to book online. We didn't bother. We got West Ham tickets through a Groupon offer. It may be worth checking that or similar web sites.

The other thing that springs to mind, and I'm making a bit of an assumption here, is that they are in the Champions League this season (I think - Sorry, it it isn't in our division I begin to get a bit vague). You are in Germany? Your friend is also in Germany? It MAY be worth waiting for that draw and considering getting tickets with a German side drawn against MU. The downside is that your friend would be in the away end. But that may not be a problem. It may be that tickets allocated to United are easier to get from United where they are traveling to Europe AND I'm assuming that the two players mentioned are 'big' and more likely not to be rested in a Eurogame.

Sorry I can't be specific about United at Old Trafford though.

Your friend would be welcome to join us at The Mighty Dons and see Barry Fuller, Tom Beere and Lyle Taylor in full flow. smiley - rofl

gah! internet ate my long reply

Thank you.
We are considering the CL and there's a bonus - we live near to lots of big teams in The Netherlands and Belgium (!) as well as Germany smiley - smiley

I'll come and watch the Dons with you - I love lower league football crowds!

Lyle Taylor learnt his craft at the mighty Falkirk FC dontcha know.

Man Utd games are massively oversubscribed with the home allocation sold out almost as soon as the season is announced. At Cup games, their season ticket holders get priority. You could see if there's a Man Utd Supporter's Club near you in Germany and enquiring through them - they tend to make block bookings well in advance then see how many members actually want to go nearer the time.

It's pretty easy to get to see the big teams at home - though a specific match might be more difficult. Just go to their website and book tickets!

What's tricky is getting to see them away and especially cup games - then you must be a 'committed' supporter and they'll release them first to season ticket holders and those who can show they've attended defined other matches by demonstrating their ticket stub possession and such like.

Ah sorry, missed the CL bit - that might be *really* tricky though it probably depends on how much you're prepared to spend. Can't say I've ever gone to a European match.

To watch Liverpool away I used to just buy the other teams tickets and try and keep a low profile in their end smiley - whistle

This was quite amusing at Coventry once where I sat restraining myself when Michael Owen scored and watched surely half the Coventry end erupt - there were probably about as many of us interlopers as genuine Coventry fans there. smiley - laughsmiley - blush
Oh my, their Stewards weren't best pleased.

I go to Gladbach for every home game, I usually sit in the home-end and it is specifically stated on the ticket that it is for home supporters only and if anyone tries to get in in any other team's colours they don't even make it through the first layer of security.

Although when we played Dortmund at home a chap next to me leapt out of his seat when Dortmund scored. He was immediately assailed by about 20 hard plastic beer cups and about 10 litres of beer. In fact it was only me and the lady in front of him who managed to save him getting a good kicking. Tbh I don't mind if the opposition fans want to dare to come into our area, but they can't come crying to anyone if they get a DM in the back of their head smiley - winkeye

we're now thinking she might be better off trying to get tickets at somewhere like Hull for their home game against Man U. She's from Finnland, her friend is from Sweden but within seconds of me suggesting that the reply came back "Hull? Really?" smiley - rofl

I did say I kept a low profile, wearing the away team colours and doing that is close on suicidal!

You can call me TC

This was so obviously a Sho thread. (I was almost put off by the lack of capital at the beginning, but...)

Let us know how she gets in - and how she gets on!
