Sho - employed again!

Hmm, can't open the link but I had suspected that already. I think they earn more here in Germany than in the UK too.

It looks like it's just the superstars.

The article says the US women's captain earns $3m per year, mostly through sponsorships and endorsements. Top England players earn £65k, where top Premier League men earn £13m+

It also mentions the top Brazilian player earning $313k per year playing in Sweden.

Some English women in the top league earn just £50 per week.

Am I suggesting most female footballers are lesbian? Not really.

My direct experience is limited to one national league side in Australia (not the world's most fanatical footballing country). In countries where association football is more common or in social leagues I have no idea.

However, I suspect the percentage of gay female footballers in the very top leagues is probably greater than in the general population. The way to find out (short of knowing somebody in the teams) would be to read a magazine aimed at a lesbian readership during the next women's world cup and review the feature profiles and interviews.

sorry, I know I came over a bit grumpy there.

Because... I used to be a soldier and the assumption was (from outsiders) that if not all, at least a huge number of us, were lesbians. Which is also pish.

It's okay for you to be grumpy, Sho. There's a thread for grumpy people.

That's what they use in the article, but it still doesn't take into account that some of them might have wives or girlfriends, hence my sticking both acronyms together. smiley - ok
