I just noticed this thread in the list and haven't read the backlog, but I must give you this warning from Steven Wright.


"Never microwave instant coffee, you'll go back in time."

There, I've done my due diligence.

I have just about got to the end of my ability to drink instant, but this is because I am drinking too much.

Funnily enough I cannot stand the Clipper stuff, even though I want to. Tastes like coffee flavoured water. I also cannot stand Maxwell house or any of the Nescafes. Dowe Edgberts (or whatever that's called) are fine. But I drink Kenco mainly, from this range: http://www.kenco.co.uk/range/kenco-100%25/662 I like the two at the front best. I think they are the strongest in the range.

From this we gather that I have totally fried my taste buds. I am going to attempt to do something about this by insisting someone get me a Chrossie pressie of... a cafetiere.

A bit of a discovery, here, at my Dad's, they've got instant coffee, and, it actually doesn't taste too dredful.... and, the weird thing, its a supermarket own brand (Aldi is the name of the supermarket I think, no idea what particular coffee of theirs it is, I shall endevor to find out...) Mind, asides Nescafe, I've not drunk much instant coffee of late, as I've just been grdinging my own beans now for err years and probably have the frazzled tastebuds to go with it

Update - I have now tried the new Carte Noir Instinct (blend of ground & dried). Tasted pretty good to me, quite on a par with the cafetiere brand I've been using.

I love my Illy coffee

an ex-cocain and herorin addict, I met in a pub in Cambridge, with a group of lesbiens, recomended that Illy one to me... I must get round to trying it

The ALDI own brand stuff, that seems to be quite drinkible (and better than Nescafe), is their colombian one I think
