That's not surprising - that's just Jay Ward and Bill Scott's version of a Russian accent.
Maybe they all talk like that in Frostbite Falls, Minnesota...

Mind you, my husband has a slight speech impediment.I am now going to be forced to carry round a little dictaphone and get all the Russian speakers I know to say 'squirrel' to check. This will provide a good practice and b lots of models in case we have to seek out Russian spies within our midst anytime soon.

You musn't bias it. You'll have to hold up a picture of Tufty and ask 'What's this?'
They'll think you're mad.

Nice one squirrel, nice one son, nice one squirrel lets have another one
Okay it started out as Cyril...referring to Spurs' legend, Cyril Knowles...but 'Nice one squirrel' is the usual saying now.

Annnnnd...the original Wonderloaf ad slogan was devised by Salman Rushdie.

Icy North Posted Aug 20, 2011
I didn't know Rushdie wrote the Wonderloaf slogan, Ed. He's credited with "Naughty but nice" (dairy council - cream cakes). And Fay Weldon wrote "Go to work on an egg"

Nah. Rise and Shine was a powdered orangey drink that tasted like aluminium.

I looked on YouTube for a favourite of my childhood for weetabix..it wasn't there.
it was a picture of a beach with a father and son. The mother was singing..
There are two men in my life, to one I am a mother and the other I'm a wife...

John Cooper Clarke sang that on R4 yesterday.
'I only do requests if someone specifically asks.'
End with a...poem.
