Is it normal for state primary schools....
kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Jul 18, 2011
I have realised that what I need to do is go up to the school for a chat with the head and/or and parent governors and, with new-parent enthusiam, express my outrage that the LEA are under-funding the school to such a great degree and offer to start a campaign with the local MP/media/LEA to protest the unfairness of what is happening. I will tell them how shocked I am that the school needs so much money from parents just to function normally and as an aside mention how nervous that made me about sending my children there.
Sol, that was also me, but on reflection I think this feeling is a function of the guilt I was feeling about not being able to be involved as much as the 'some parents' they were using as examples and the scare tactics they were using to get us to cough up. They didn't explicitly say they had to have parent help.

That should at the very least make them give me the real figures, rather than the mish-mash of conflated figures and scare tactics we have been given so far.
