Life. It isn't something to celebrate.
We might just have to put things on hold until we're independent again...

Galaxy Babe FP author x2
If it doesn't get reinstated it's probably due to the h2g2 move...even though the game never broke the rules I bet various powers that be wanted to get rid of it in case the Daily Mail got wind of it and was able to have a headline
'BBC revels in celebrity deaths'.
'The BBC allows it's users to 'bet' on who will die during the upcoming year. The BBC has a page on their website where users can list the people they think will die during the year. Users 'will' the people on their list to die and revel in the deaths and some even moan in consternation that they had taken those people off the year before and hence 'missed out on points'.
The BBC were not available for comment but made the statement 'The game is within the 'House Rules' of the site and although it may cause offense to some people it is not breaking any rules.'
The Daily Mail rang 's relatives. However, they were not willing to talk about the morbid game and the Mail left them to grieve in peace."
Of course, if the page does come back.
If not....

Very succinctly put.
We can only ever justify it by the way we play. We all want to lose (sadly, I'm doing really badly this year). We also want to remember their lives and post our short obits when they go.
There's no place for any other kind of comment here.

Sorry to minichessemouse - the news that President Barack Obama has been assassinated is incorrect, the Fox News Twitter account was hacked and a malicious rumour spread: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14012294
