Emmily ~ Roses are red, Peas are green, My face is a laugh, But yours is a scream

Never mind for now GB, we've got all year to sort it, and anything can happen in a year smiley - winkeyesmiley - smiley

I don't 'get' why it's still getting modded, even with the change of name. I did what the Eds asked last year, plus a bit more. As least now I know it's not personal against me, but I think it is the same person yikesing it each year, and I suggested as much to the Eds when it was modded last year.

Oh, well, hopefully, we'll be up and running on Monday. smiley - smiley

Could we please have a fourth volunteer, capable of adding to three-digit sums, to award the prizes this year?

If not, I'll have to let Francis do it.

I've added all the lists now. I'm still tweaking, adding high-pick celebrities and awaiting replacements but otherwise I am done. Of course when I updated, it disappeared, but I think that's the smiley - modbug and it usually reappears within a few mins. Could players check their lists and let me know if any errors are spotted?smiley - ta

Just casting my name down the lists, I was amazed how many I thought were already dead, but aren't. smiley - bigeyes

GB, further to our emails earlier today ... I'd like to request an Official Ruling from Mu Beta on this one please.

Not that I don't follow the fortunes of my own choices, but it seems the much-loved children's author Mr Richard King-Smith OBE (author of The Sheep-pig (filmed as Babe) and the Sophie books, among many others) died on 4 January 2011. smiley - rose

He had been resident on my list for smiley - erm well for however long I've been playing. More than one year, anyway, and he was in the list I emailed over to GB on 2 January 2011, two days before his death. So I would very much like to celebrate his life by finding myself 15 points up in 2011.

But he died before the official launch of this year's Celebration. Do I need to field a substitute?

I think there's enough justification for giving you the early points there, Mol. smiley - ok

Up to you how you want to do the Scoreboard GB smiley - smiley however, having the name in the box with the smiley - rose is going to fill the screen up quickly, then people will have to scroll along the page to view the scores.

I think it was the year before last, I had to shorten people's user-names to keep the page fitted (more or less) on the screen as there were so many smiley - roses (deaths) that year.

It would save having to click the rose link if you added a footnote with the name of the deceased - we could then just hover the mouse over it smiley - smiley

Like that? smiley - smiley Although I can't work out why the footnote is over on the right instead of below the tablesmiley - erm

I've seen that effect before (I think Tufty had that problem on his PS or something). Not sure if there's an easy fix, but it looks OK to me.

I like that idea with the Footnote smiley - smiley

Not now, as I'm not awake enough, but later, I'll go over the old Scoreboards and add Footnotes to the roses. smiley - zen

I'm seeing the Footnote at the bottom of the Table. smiley - ok

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

Indeed it is good news, especially for his wife and young children.
