Salad Cream

I take it these are acceptable to eat as they aren't represented in an advertisement campaign?

Adverts are OK, bad adverts are not Tartare sauce and tabasco is nice, nobody has produced a product of it and then produced a terrible advert with it in, and even if they did, I would probably just continue making the stuff myself Hee Until later....

You could bottle you own Tartare/Tabasco mix, sell it, make a fortune, TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! CALL IT Tartasco

Here's one for Tigerlily, I can recommend it from my 3rd pregnancy, salad cream, (Crosse & Blackwell for preference), kippers & condensed milk, all on wholemeal bread.

GW - you should take that to the celibacy thread - it's certainly the perfect contraception...

Alright ... hmm ... This is all well and good ... however ... I have no clue what Salad Cream is. Someone care to explain? (For reference: I am an American and I suspect that we do not have salad cream or ... at least, we call it something else).

It is very difficult to explain what salad cream is but I will try. It's a bit like mayo but cream in colour, it has the consistancy of ketchup, it is more vinegery in taste. I have heard that it is available in the U.S but is rather hard to find. A work collegue said she found some in a grocery store in Colorado (not that it helps).Oh and one other thing, IT IS THE GREATEST TASTE SENSATION KNOWN TO MAN.

Glancing over this conversation, I am getting a little worried with Niz's rather orgasmic obsession with the 'Cream. Mind you, it's been a long time since I tried a proper bottle........ I shall get back to you.

If the adverts get you down try complaining, the PR folk will be so suprised that anyone actually noticed their advert's content and presentation that they may well send you a sample or voucher so that you can try the product and "decide for yourself". I used to do this when I was at university (ages ago) and used to score about 50 percent success.

What a great idea. Then everyone would have free salad cream which would probably bring balance to the universe (Although this cannot be proved)

Not a fan of either Mayo or Salad Cream, though.

Salad cream doesn't go with curry??
damn.....thats where I'm going wrong.....mixing the last of the curry and rice with some salad cream then making a sandwich isn't the done thing????
Does this mean I have to stop doing the same with chilii?
is eating it on its own in a slice of bread ok?
and does anyone else use it in the bedroom...like the advert says...."anything tastes supreme with heinz salad cream"....

Very well said my friend, I have been enjoying the wonderful salad cream taste for all of my 15 year life span. I also say "down with continental crap and up with the good old British salad cream!" We could start a campain, save good old British salad cream! (Cue Union Jack and National anthem, armies of people saluting a bottle of salad cream!)
