Not necessarily. I suspect it would depend on how well you cooked the... um... meat. I suspect brains wouldn't take particularly well to many cooking methods, hence the increased risk of disease when eating them.

Wha if we just rephrase it slightly, remove the cannibalism angle very temporarily. Are Jews allowed to eat either:
A, Any meat (Providing it's kosha)
B, All meats apart from ____ (Fill as appropriate)
or
C, No meats apart from _____ (Fill as appropriate)
As far as the risk of disease goes, we eat chickens fed on dead chickens! I suppose if we did get worried about disease the answer's simple. Eat vegetarians.

I remember in the X-files episode about a town of cannibals, the chickens in a factory fed on dead chickens. But I thought that was just to display the attitude of the town. Do the American chickens really feed on dead chicken?

Not just Americans. Left over chicken (The bits left over after A: The edible stuff has been taken out and B: McDonalds has taken its pick) is mixed in with chicken feed. Ditto for Lamb and (Apart from in the UK now) Cows. Although I think cows are still fed on dead chicken and lamb and vica verca

Technically a McDonalds burger is vegetarian, because how much meat goes into a McDonalds burger?

The whole - cooking human flesh smells like pork thing - is absolutley true. My uncle was a fireman for 12 years and chose to become vegitarian for that very reason.

...but tastes like veal, apparently. Is there any agreement on this? or does it depend on the cooking method?
what about auto-cannibalism? not that biting bits off around your nails puts you in the same league as Sawney Beane.

There's something in the current Private Eye about a couple of chaps in Cambodia who were let off on a charge of cannibalism because there was no law against it in that country. They had to sign a statement saying that they wouldn't do it again and they were set free
