Finding Internships
Malabarista - now with added pony Started conversation Nov 21, 2009
Now that the Uni has finally sent me my diploma, I really do need to find a job... Or at least an internship. Preferably one I don't have to pay for, of course.
I've not been able to find any positions listed (for jobs or internships) that don't require 5-10 years of work experience, but have sent out my resume to various firms (with individual cover letters) and asked family/friends whether they have any leads. It's been entirely unfruitful - most of the places I've written to don't even bother responding at all!
I'm not even terribly picky. It just has to be:
a) an architecture or civil engineering firm
b) in the EU
So does anyone have any tips on where/how I could look? Any job listing sites that might be fruitful? Any tips on how to stand out from the masses?

Radio four yesterday mentioned a UK (I think) scheme which is basically a job finder site for internships, I've been trying, since they mentioned it, to find out what it was bleedin well called!

Could it be this one, Robyn?

The others I have found seem to be just summer internships.

I've no idea. It was on you and yours yesterday. They were discussing youth unemployment and how a lot of graduates want to get well paid jobs straight away but should go for internships and *mumblemumble mumble* was a good place to go for a look...

It's a 55 minute program. I don't think Mala will be able to use the link, but it might help others
