Over a million people marching on Washington?
kuzushi Started conversation Sep 15, 2009
Has anyone else heard about it?
Apparently this happened this weekend, but most of the media didn't report it because it opposed their agenda, as it was opposed to Obama.

He's basically saying the media in the USA are a joke and that they've sold their souls for money.

reports all over the shop if you look
http://news.google.co.uk/news?client=opera&rls=en&q=million%20people%20march%20washington&sourceid=opera&oe=utf-8&cr=countryUK%7CcountryGB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wn
and would appear the actual numbers were at least an order of magnitude lower.

I can't watch any of those clips at the moment, but any claim from the right wing in America that the media is somehow biased against them seems to me to be a little odd....

Around 75,000 people, in this report.

The footage from the first video looks like well over 75,000 people, if you compare it to Wembley Stadium.
Looks like quite a few Wembleys there.

yeah, that's the consensus of the more rational reports I'd read. Also at least one of the photos of hordes of people is actually from a different event.

that was me agreeing with RF, just to clarify.

You're right KZWG! The complete media blackout on this event is due to Obama and the lizard men's dastardly plot to take away our guns and replace them with Mexican atheist lesbian single mothers on welfare!

This from the man who brought you 'Obama is a Brit'

From the Telegraph link:
<<One teenager carried a scrawled sign that read: "Do I 'look' like I want to 'serve' in Obama's Nazi Youth militia? Arrest our Communist, Fascist, Racist, Lying, President NOW for Treason!!"
That´s a brilliant boy!
Obama is indeed a traitor. All that long tradition of using illegal inmmigrants and kick them when the harvest or whatever bussiness is over is on risk.
All that Calvinist tradition of associating wealth with morality will also disappear if that guy insists on an extended wellfare State!
He also wants more control over finances and banks! He says is to prevent another crisis, but it isn´t, it´s because he´s a communist.
God (and far right wing) save America!

'Obama is a Brit'
What gets me about that is that the conspiranoids who spout it are so taken up in the 'not American' and communist/nazi/muslim/alien plots to take over the country that they haven't taken the next *rational* step of realising that having a Brit in charge is merely part of the British plan to retake the colonies and ransack them to pay off our national debt and then restart the empire.
It's a good plan and I'm quite surprised they haven't worked it out yet.

The American political dialogue is now so degenerated there's surely a gap in the market for wipe-clean "ARREST ...... NOW!! FOR TREASON!!" placards that can be sold to protesters who can fill in the blank with the name of whatever "socialist-atheist-communist" (democrat) or "worse-than-hitler-fascist" (republican) is in the White House.

Still, even if we were to accept that there were a million people there, that's less than 1% of the population. All things considered, it doesn't seem like anything to write home about.

How many turned up for Obama's Inauguration. Just for comparison? I'm getting between 800,000 and 3 million. which seems rather a large disparity.
