What determines the order of the name's in the Who's Online list?

Maybe the members are just added to the top or to the bottom of the list, when they've logged in.

From earlier questions on this subject I was lead to believe that the list was order was a time since the last page request from that user.

This is the conversation on Ask hg2g that was posted to the least recently, so I doubt it's really a relevant question anymore, but here's the answer:
Either in order of U-number, or Alphabetical order. You choose with the radio buttons on the top.

The current default order for online is just how it comes out of the database. I think my comments above reflected how it worked at the time.
