I wish the 'crazy frog' advert was on tv more often
Orcus Posted May 22, 2005
Out of interest. Is the crazy frog advertised on terrestrial tv at all? I.e. on channel 3,4 or 5?
It's on all the time on cable channels but given the quality of these I suspect it cost next to eff all to advertise on cable/satellite channels.

Fairy nuff. I thought I hadn't actually seen it on ITV but loved one assures me that it is on there too.
I'll reiterate a point I made on another thread sometime ago.
Paying for new ring tones? Haven't people really got better things to do with their money?
Burning it seems more useful.

I made the mistake of geting on a bus full of school kids yesterday ~ then had to spend an hour listening to them all playing eachother their ringtones.
Every version of that ing frog, the chick and that really annoying cutesie dragon.
I swear to god i never came so close to murder in my life.
How do a bunch of pre-teens afford the ringtones anyway?

It's a common trait in young folk - they assert their individuality by all doing the same thing.

I'm sure our hosts here at the BBC will say it's our own fault for watching commercial TV, and not their channels.
On another note, next time you go to the cinema, make sure you have a bag of hard sweets ready for when the inevitable moron decides he needs his phone left on so he can tell everyone where he is.
I find Minstrels to be best as they're quite tough, and wonderfully aerodynamically shaped, perfect for throwing with maximum force.
Popcorn just doesn't travel as well...

One thing the mobile phone in the cinema problem has led to is a highly entertaining advertising campaign by Orange. I actually find myself looking forward to the next installment.

It's a chav thing. The frog ringtone means the chav is fun and exciting, however as they lack all but herd mentality and basic communication skills. The chick/dragon are for the chavettes who see being annoyingly cute as a tactic for ensnaring male chavs, despite the fact they're as attractive as David Dickinson in a mini skirt, with voices that make nails on a blackboard sound like music.
The ringtone's just another symptom of not educating the young, and relying on 'Trisha' to pass on social skills.

Great post that.

I'm afraid that's one image I don't want in my head.

It's all a bit depressing. It's not even good. The only thing that's remotely good or indicative of any talent is the noise (a motorbike impression) originally made by that Swedish (Norwegian?) guy. Initially it had nothing to do with bloomin' frogs.

I hate it so much it spoiles my viewing I have to have remote handy to flick over or mute the TV.

They played it in a club I go in last week, a supposedly 'indie' venue. I let the DJ know what I thought of his selection and walked out.

Though the sound makes me feel like buying a couple of woodpeckers, putting birdseed into my ears and attaching the birds to the sides of my head....I much enjoyed Chris Martins interpretation of the frog last night
