h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm getting Dante's Inferno on release date, too, and I'm looking forward to it. A demo should be available on PS network next week for Heavy Rain, and I'd like to check that out.

Otherwise I've played nothing but Brütal Legend for the last few weeks. A friend at work loaned me her copy, and we bought it the very next day. It's an absolute blast.

I just finished Drakensang. The end was rather disappointing, that boss battle was far too easy!

Saints row 2 is sooo much better than the first.It is definately better to look at and more fun to play. I picked my copy up for £10...money well spent If anyone fancies a two plyr on SR2 my gamertag is skyline stu01.


I have also just started playing the first Mass Effect game .WOW !!! cant wait to get the 2nd one.For anyone who hasn't played Mass Effect ,it is well worth gettin ur mitts on a copy

Well Mass Effect 2 is spiffy if oyu ask me....

As I was unable to get time off work I have decided to cease sleeping until I finish it...

Recently:

Tombraider...whatever the last one was...pretty good...bit short.
Red Faction: Alliance...good fun, sandbox type but easier than GTA but that's not a fault.
Playing Half Life 2 again after putting it down for a while. Still a great seminal series. (Worth getting The Orange Box just for Portal.)


And Mass Effect - must get back onto it as hardly broken the back of it even though it is excellent.

Finished Mass Effect (well, Sentinal has been defeated - just the odd mission or two to complete) Will start ME 2 soon.

Bioshock 2 has been started - excellent!

However, will somebody stop me buying Microsoft points? I bought Chime and Kriss X last night (was up 'til 3.45am playing the latter and spent more than an hour on Free Play on the former )

I must get back into The Orange Box again, 3Dots - not played that since Summer. I had barely touched FPS when I bought it, though. Also need to get back to Rainbow 6 - Vegas 2, CoD Modern Warfare 2 Bayonetta, Silent Hill the Homecoming.

I also need to find all the bones on Axel and Pixel (yeah, I'm *very* sad)

There just aren't enough hours in the day

CoD Modern Warfare 2 - meh - overall average total package. SHort poor single player, spec ops very good though but limited life. Multiplayer disappointing - kitchen sink stuff with too many perks etc and just doesn't have the nice basic feel of MW1 or WaW.

Haven't played multiplayer MW2 for weeks. Don't think I will again. Back on WaW when I get the feel for on-line stuff.

Just got Oblivion for my birthday - it's not the newest game, but I liked Morrowind, so I'm sure Oblivion will be good, too

Oblivion is great...just watch your days and nights disappear though. I racked up over 200hours on it and still haven't finished the game.

I did find Wikioblivion useful sometimes mainly for looking at bugs in some tasks which can stop you doing other things later on. There is/was a bug in the THeives Guild quests that stops you finishing them all.

God damn oblivion was like crack to me...

I kid you not, I got it on the sunday, and monday morning I phoned in work and asked for the week off!

Must have done about 100 hours in one week...

Then had that awful weird lucid dreaming you get when you have played a video game for 16 hours straight and you try and sleep.

Yup, that's the chappy. Similar here..although I didn't book a week off and did get to bed at sensible hours the evenings just melted away for weeks.

Ahhh... tis a foolish way to spend your annual leave.

Though, in truth, I would (and probably will) do it again in a flash!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets weird dreams after hours of playing. For a while all my dreams had the people rendered as Simpsons characters.

Still trying to finish Brütal Legend so I can start on Dante's Inferno!

I once had a dream where I was suddenly paralysed walking through a house. Couldn't move anything at all. Panic.

Then I saw a pill bug on the wall in front of me and all became clear.

Because that's the symbol for the bug reporter in ArchiCAD, which was constantly crashing on me while I was trying to finish a project...

Two games have really done that for me - Dungeon Keeper left me with imps running around every time I closed my eyes.
Dynasty Warriors 6 left me and my husband tossing and turning so much we eventually had to ban ourselves from playing it in the evenings. Unfortunately we rather played that game to death but it was still very good, and was a fantastic co-op multiplayer (which you can't say about most games).

It's not just when I'm asleep, either. With most games, it's usually just the music that haunts me during waking hours, especially if there was an especially annoying song. When we got Katamari Forever, we played it to death, too, and for the better part of a week, whenever I looked out the window on my train to/from work, I'd get a mental image of everything being rolled up into giant katamari.

Na naaaa, na na na na na na, naaa na katamari damacy (dokodo chu dokodo chu) na naaaaaaa...

Ah! Now I've got it in my head too!
