Gurkha Justice - you can help
Websailor Started conversation Oct 24, 2008
I have just signed this and would urge anyone who feels the same to do likewise.

So much financial and moral support is given by the UK to people to whom we ow nothing, that for these people to have to fight for support in the way they have is a disgrace, and a shame on this country.
Please support Joanna Lumley and the Ghurkas and let them know the people of the UK want them to have what they so richly deserve before it is very much too late.

yes - check the link out this is calling for a change in the law for all Gurkhas
"Following that fantastic High Court decision, the Government has to change the law on how it treats Gurkhas. We demand the full, fundamental change in law that will allow all retired Gurkhas the right to live here."

If you ever drive near Aldershot in the evenings, tune into Garrison Radio. They do some of their news bulletins in Nepalese. Has to be heard to be believed.

Done
These people have far more claim to citizenship than the majority of Brits. Citizenship shouldn't be a bit of paper handed out willy-nilly, it should be earned and the Gurkhas have done so repeatedly.

I don't think my signature would count (not being a UK resident) but I'll see if I'm allowed.
I, too, used to work with the Gurkhas and they are fab.

Signed, they deserve citzenship more than most. Indeed more than me really. In particular the Gurkhas with VC's that the goverenment still rejected on the grounds of insufficient ties to the UK is just shocking.
