? Who cares?
KB Posted Dec 31, 2004
The key thing in the German version is that the verb comes as the 2nd idea (with some exceptions). The past particple - ie baked or made - comes last: The cake(1st idea) was (2nd idea) from flour, butter, etc, made (past participle).
Or,
From Flour etc(ingredients = first idea), was (verb = 2nd) the cake made (past participle last).

BTW That might have sounded really complicated, but grammar is always so much harder to explain than to use! It's really easy enough when you get used to it.

oh man, K_B, I think I've been in Germany too long. I look at a sentence like your cake one, and I don't see anything abnormal in it...
as for and well, I have the same thing as TC: I read at work but I can only post at home. A bookmark helps me to keep track.
as for when you're lurking but not replying, perhaps might be more appropriate?

Nooooooooo, it could look like Chad or Kilroy. A couple of eyeballs and a nose peering over a wall, with two hands shown grabbing onto the wall.
I like it.

I always thought there was a lurker smiley already. Certainly people often *wave to lurkers * because they know I'm there somewhere.

Some of us can be standing out in the open and no one notices us.We are lurkers right out in full view.

I'm not really here Posted Jan 2, 2005
I've been lurking less over christmas, but only because I've got more time to post and keep up with conversations now. That might all change when I go back to work though.

It does look like that, doesn't it TRiG? I'd completely forgotten I'd suggested that.
No smiley for you but I reckon this fits.

The thread wasn't dead, it was merely sleeping...
Reminds me a lot of Kilroy, though. All it needs is le nez grande.
