The last known photo of Elvis:

That was taken three hours before he died.

Thanks Sho - that's one of my favourite photos and I had it as my wallpaper for ages until I took this one in Barcelona...

Rather a poignant photo, Roghan Josh. I remember the day Elvis died. I heard the news on the car radio while I was on my way to pick my sister up at work ... I burst into the office saying - 'Elvis is dead!' - and one of my sister's co-workers looked up and without batting an eye said - 'Mmmm, I'm all shook up'.

oh that's lovely (the photo, not the Elvis thing)
when I finally get my photo up that I'm using as my wallpaper, I will share it. I'm quite proud of it, but I can't describe it as it sounds yukky.

I've been looking through my photos to try to get my woodwork pictures, if I hadn't seen this thread I'd never have thought of putting some other stuff out there for people to see

Yelbakk, I read about that very ad in Bill Bryson's latest book.
Back in the 50's when people thought going out to watch a nuclear explosion in the Nevada desert was cause for bringing a picnic ... the idea of fallout never entered their naïve minds.
