I think what angered the workers most was when they invited us to a meeting where vague statistics were shown, and there were people who had been employed to explain to us why we were being made redundant, who didn't seem to be able to answer any of our questions, didn't have any understanding of what we did or how we operated. It seemed like another complete waste of money. I'm not saying that what Oxfam does as a whole is not a good thing, because it is. Its more about the political aspects. When you spend your time arranging for goods that have been donated by the well-meaning public to be shipped abroad and you know that it is highly likrly that those goods will never get to their intended destination. Its far more likely that they'll end up on the black market somewhere, being sold to line some entrepreneurs pockets. It would be nice to think that everyone was totally honest.
(This is all the opinions of former workmates)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
