if an intruder had got into your house

Consider going for the back of the calves, to put them off balance. First wave your arms around to distract their attention, then perform that *well-practised* roundhouse kick, just above the ankle. While they're down, run away.

That is OK if you are agile, what about the smiley - senior citizens?
They can't do stuff like that. Although I did hear a story on the radio not long ago about this old biddy waved her stick at the intruder and brandished a knife.

"Get out of my house!" she cried "you miserable son of a washed out dobshot!" smiley - grr and the smiley - thiefsmiley - run away empty handed! smiley - rofl

Martial arts training can be particularly useful for senior citizens, and there is evidence that it can reverse the effects of ageing.

Note that it is the 'training' that is crucial.

Well doing your advertising here won't do you any good at all.
Apart from that I have already had martial arts training and I have to admit it was a lot better than the judo training either of my children received. Have a nice day.

One hand on top of the shoulder, and the other under the opposite armpit. Your hand will grip over the shoulder and even the tightest garments are slightly loose under the armpit. If they are naked (or at least not wearing a shirt) slide the second hand up into the armpit.

You don't need a *strong* grip, just a firm one that won't slip.

My belts are in shotokan and I've always struggled against Judoka.
