Anyway, another question... Does anyone know how the whole wireless networking works? The person at the shop said that it was 'intergrated', but i need to plug in this extra thing to use the wireless networking thing...

Wow - that is a powerful laptop, but the graphics card has only 32MB of shared memory, which might let it down a bit for games. Were there any specific games that you had in mind to play?

I'm sorry that I don't know much about wireless networking. I'm sure the technical support can help you with that.
As for the games, I don't think UT2003 will work with 32MB of graphics memory; but the others should. And any new games will almost certainly need 64MB VRAM or higher I suspect.

How much would it cost to upgrade the graphics memory? (roughly)...

Sorry, but as far as I know you can't actually upgrade the graphics cards of laptops.

Really?! Ah well... At least it *hopefully* should restrict me playing games, so i can actually do my work...

Oh well... So far, i have had my new laptop for pretty much 5 days...
Here goes a mini-review...
NEC Versa M320
So far, so good... nothing has gone wrong or anything, and it hasn't crashed on me yet... The wireless networking has been rather hard to set up, probably because i don't really have much knowledge on the subject...
Games seem to run alright so far on this, which has been mainly Red Alert 2...
DVD's also run quite well, although you need to get a suitable program for it, like power DVD, as Windows media player doesn't seem to play them...
The CD-drive seems a little slow in reading cds when you first put them in the drive, as it took a couple minutes for the autorun screen to start up when i put in the CD for RA2...
The computer is relatively quiet, which is quite good...
I quite like the inbuilt card reader, as i used ita couple times already to look at photos straight of a digital camera card, so if you're getting a new computer, and you have a digital camera, a card reader would be quite good to include with it...
Ummm.. what else...
Specs...
480Mb of RAM
2.59 Ghz
OS - Windows XP Pro
Hard Drive: 55.8 Gb
4 USB 2.0 ports,
2 in 1 card reader
a mouse port
wireless connection
cd-rw/Dvd drive
network card
56K modem
a couple other ports which i don't know what they do...
I suppose that's about it...
I'll try to play some more demanding games like UT2003, once i borrow the cd's off my friend, then i might post to say how they run...

(NB: I dont particulary like "Windows Media Player" much, not only is is no b****y use at playing DVD's it is also p**s poor at recorcding MP3's (which is the defacto standard for portable music players) ... the net result I don't use the blighter)

The only thing i use windows media player for is playing music, and copying my CD's onto my computer, so i don't have to worry about putting in a cd whenever i want to listen to it...
