Here's a sweet bit of uselessness...
If you flip the Dodge Viper logo upside down, it looks like Daffy Duck.

Apparently the Dodge Ram logo looks like a uterus to some folks as well.

No, there's nothing Freudian about that, nosirree.

You can call me TC Posted Nov 10, 2009
The Starbucks logo started out as a full-blown two-tailed mermaid with bare bazooms and all. They were looking for a maritime motif to go with the name "Starbuck" - the mate in the book "Moby Dick". They had to modify it when they first saw the logo enlarged big enough to go on the side of a truck. A bit too much for 1970s America.
The two-tailed mermaid was a sailor's fantasy - (a one-tailed mermaid wasn't a very satisfying prospect)
(There was a whole programme on Radio 4 (I think it was Radio 4) about mermaids recently. I learned a lot of useless information)

A craft beer brewer in Galveston, Texas was successfully sued by Starbucks for trademark infringement for trying to market "Star Bock" beer.

"Bock" beer is a kind of beer in Germany. It's the high-octane stuff they brew during Lent - traditionally the monks who did the brewing were not allowed to eat in Lent so they put a few more calories into their beer.
That would be like MacDonald's sueing the McDonald family for calling their tartan "McDonald Tartan"

Bock beer is very popular in Texas. Central Texas was widely settled by German and Czech immigrants. What was once billed as "Texas' Oldest Independent Brewery", the Spoetzl brewery made their Shiner Bock one of the most popular beers in Texas. They marketed it in college towns heavily in the 80's. Shiner beer was once the cheapest beer in Texas. Now they charge "import" prices for it.
