The 'old' stig (in black) was a racing driver by the name of Perry McCarthy...

No idea who the new one (in white) is though.

a random out of work British Touring Car driver ?
Steve Soper ??? It can't be John Cleland cause he doesn't swear enough. Too short to be Tiff Nedell in disguise.
On a top gear note. Do you think that the producers of fifth-gear realise that it is blatently obvious that almost every single thing they do ..
-- cars on a race track
-- try and destroy a car to see if it is indestructable
-- drift fast cars around a track and review them without considering what they are actually like to drive on the road
is ripped straight from Top Gear (just without the production values), and that one day soon they should tell the presenters this.

Yeah!! You should see 'em go down the Craner Curves! The Old Hairpin and three Touring Cars do not mix!!
Oops.. sorry, have I gone off topic again?

only been to 1 touring car race, t'was at Donnington
it was the end of season TOCA cup. Nigel Mansell came back from winning the Indy series in the US. He drove into a wall at the Old Harpin.
As we was taken away by ambulance, a load of the press guys held up a banner "nigel, don't forget the wholemeal"
if you have forgotten Nigel's poor adds for Texico in the mid 90s, this may not be funny.
Was a lot of good racing. Not quiet as good as some of the bikes, but I think it was the only time I've been to donnington and it didn't snow. 2 hours of traffic jams getting out the circuit and the car I was in's exhust fell off half way down the M1

Poor Nigie-poos.. he hit Starkeys Bridge!!
I have been to Donnington a number of times. The coldest was during the Truck Racing one November.. it was fffffreeezing!!
The only time I was warm was when the trucks went past!

Think I was at that race wasn't it Tiff who shunted him into the wall cos he was back for one race only with it been the end of season.
