Since their job is speaking over microphones, presumably they must have had some training.

I have a new job that involves using a radio, I was just given the radio, it was 3 days until I was actually told how to use it.......
and then only because I wasn't answering anyone, no-one told me I had to push in the button on the side of it to answer......

You can get applications that will put notepad at the top. or GET Linux it's been the for years as always! or if your a lazy Microsoft hugger and you have a GForce card some nview desktop manager will alow you to put windows always ontop.
taps can be solved with a micro wave to the presure whcih will cause the stream to ajust, so if the water is running fast and it's hitting an object, suprise suprise the presure is greater then if it wasn't hitting an object and you can create a device to test for the presure increase.

Just been discussing in another thread how hard it is to read information - books etc - on a computer screen.
Would be a great idea if someone invented a tiny projector that projected the screen's info onto a wall.
I think half the problem with reading on a screen is that you cant assume a relaxed pose you do as when reading normally. With this invention you'd be able to read in bed too!
PS I'm half hoping someone will says 'been done' so I can go and get one

in a sense it has - PC presentation projectors are getting cheaper and smaller - but still a long way off from being cheap home equipment - as you can link PDAs to them we are half way there - but a small cut down version with limited range would be cool

That's a really good idea, I already kinda do that sometimes, but it involves texting one of my housemates and getting them to set the video, which is more work, and not very reliable!

How about moulds for ice sculptures? I'm sure they would sell well for weddings etc.

Ice cream van 'music' should be more 'with it'. How about Ace Of Spades? I'm gonna start a campaign for more irony. The powers that be can start by having miserable people presenting the lottery show.

I'm sure this would be a succesful idea (if it hasn't already been done) :
A program/website that gradually changes all the words you see on your monitor (on web sites, chat rooms, documents etc)into another language.
You can pick one word a day/week to change, and the percentage of foreign words on screen gradually increases. The result (hopefully) would be that you learn the language 'the lazy way'.
Of course, it probably wouldn't be great with grammar, but vocabulary could be easily learnt.

Hmmm. Having seen the Last Night Of The Proms I think there's a need for a new classical music dance that isn't 'bob up and down like a wally'.

somone needs to create a system that allows you to electricute the network executives of whatever channel you happen to be watching every time you aren't entertained by what's on television by pressing a button on your remote. But then again theres people like me who would press the button constantly for fun. That might have some health risks for the network execs too.

Mmm Synthetic42 you've hit on a similar idea to two of mine.
Firstly the new "reality" show where each night you get to vote for who on all the other TV shows needs a slapping - tonight it will be the two welsh women in Property Ladder - the winner then gets slapped by the Tango man (remember him?)
The other idea is for car control - each car has explosives in it and a radio - if someone anoys you when driving you can type their number into your box - if enough people enter the number over, say, an hour the car blows up - or re-cycles the exhaust into a sealed car or something.

I've spotted more of a need than an actual invention. In another thread someone suggested that if you died there would be lots of your friends and contacts on the net who would not find out about it (due to passwords for email accounts etc). So there could be a website or some means of contacting all your contacts on your death. Morbid I know.

I'm often in the situation where I have a pile of videos with no label on and I don't know what they contain. It would be great if videos had a facility where a tape is run through and stops automatically on each 20 mins of tape then plays the video for ten seconds. Would save my finger lots of hard work.

When I was about 13 I was laughed down by my friends after observing that since CD's were replacing cassette tapes as a music storing device, then surely someday video tapes would be replaced by CD's too. Ha Ha they said, how are you going to get a movie onto a CD?
Doesnt seem like such a stupid idea now, does it!
