h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It has become apparent that the meetup photo archive has become too large a project for one person to deal with on their own. I probably could manage it myself if it were not for other commitments both on and off site, and a mild bout of depression.

From what I can see I am therefore left with three options as to dealing with the project:

1. Shelve it either temporarily or indefinately
2. Enlist the help of a small number of volunteers to maintain the pages
3. Make the account accessible to all (like the Grim Reaper/Noticeboard accounts are)

So what should I do?

I don't really have any suggestion but I'm happy to volunteer

I think you should have a combination of options 2 and 3.

Give a few people access to this account, that only should serve as an index to the different meet-pages.

From the participants of the meets someone should be responsible to maintain a page on the pictures of that meet only, a job that will need less and less work as the meet recedes into the past.

That way you can always access pictures of past meets, but no-one will have to do all the work.

Has a date been set for the summmer meet?

Combining 2 and 3 is something i've not considered. How would you see it working, whoever organises a meetup creates and maintains the page?

I think it is difficult to say beforehand who will be responsible for the page, especially as the organiser does not have to be the one with the camera.
But it should be possible to find 'someone' from the meet who wants to show their pictures and make a start with a page. Then others can ask to add their pictures/links too.
It also can be discussed and arranged during the meet.
