What? You expect inspiration to arrive on demand?

Surely something must be done to curb this impatience.

Such are the disappointments of the modern world.

Mmmh... Imagine that some kind of huge spaceship came to destroy the Earth in order to make way for a hypergalactic bypass...

Ah? Sorry, I'm told someone did it before.

Perhaps someone can just write something that takes their fancy. No quotes from dead people, something original. I dunno.

Well I'd guessed the novel part, and from previous expeiance I can confirm that screaming at the screen certainly does not work.smiley - smiley What type of novel though?

Well, its hard to define. My two characters go travelling, and it is set far in the future. But it is neither sci-fi nor a travel book... hmm. What do you think it is?

Umm. having thought about it. i prefer the term 'Genre Busting!' yea, that sounds good.

I spose the story does centre around the two characters' travels...

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I thought that they were the two chinchilla's, sitting on their shoulders.

No! haha. but they should be. Thats genius! what kind of crazy book would that be. Think of the children!

i would describe it like this - a superficial story, i.e. two lads go travelling. set far in the future when the whole solar system is open to everyone... i wont give toio many more detail away.

any ideas?

Ace Rimmer [pretending]

You need a big, big terrorist siege wich the two travellers completely ingore, just for colour.
Then you add an explosion, which the two travelers completely ignore, and then you add more stuff that the two travelers completely ignore, and wright about that, and so, the book isn't about the two travelers at all!

The only way i can describe those ideas is... 'special'. You are a special boy.

Although that is quite a good idea in itself... two blokes wandering through amazing places just ignoring stuff, could be written in a similar vein as Hitchhikers.

An infectious disease on Io breaks out, and to prevent disaster all travel to and from Io is prevented. One guy gets off the moon before the quarantine, but the other misses the flight as he went back for his pet chincilla, which he had left in a bar a mile beneath the surface.

On finding his pet chinchilla, the guy finds out that it has been implanted with some kind of tracking equipment. He later discovers that it was the wrong chinchilla, one that had escaped from a government spy network.

Meanwhile the other guy works as the off-moon base as together they work to uncover some plan to take over the solar system using the chinchilla.

There. That should be enough mindless drivel to convince you that you can come with something much better by yourself. smiley - winkeyesmiley - smiley
