Better yet, read Michael Bishop's 'Philip K. Dick is daed, Alas!', and see how some others saw him, through a scanner, very darkly...smiley - laugh

I still like 'Do Androids Dreams of Electric Sheep?' There's several ideas in there that didn't make the transistion to 'Blade Runner'.

The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin

Must say, I prefer the short story of Minority Report to the film version. Seems more... coherent smiley - erm Can't think how to describe it, but everything in the short story seems to 'fit' much better than the film does.

Reading everything by him could take some time as he was a prolific author.

FC - I'll put some aside then for your next flying visit? As there are some here going spare, that is...smiley - smiley

I'd suggest trying sdome of his non-genre fiction from the fifties/early sixties. Really good - and not going anywhere during the present cull...

Probably worth mentioning that there are currently FIVE (count 'em) volumes of PKD's short stories (representing, I think, a complete collection) in print in Gollancz paperback in the UK, titled as follows:

Vol 1: "Beyond Lies the Wub"
Vol 2: "Second Variety"
Vol 3: "The Father Thing"
Vol 4: "Minority Report"
Vol 5: "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale"

There's a list, as is usual, at the beginning of vol 1, of full length novels also by PKD. Any Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fans care to guess how many are listed? I'm sure you know the Answer. Prolific indeed...

H.
