I also hate the 'sub' bags. When we go to the supermarket we have a number of bags for life, some of which are 5 or more years old! We also reuse the cardboard bottle carriers to destruction (one checkout operator exclamed recently that they hadn't seen that type of bottle carrier for ages!! - It fell to bits a week latersmiley - sadface). We always refuse the 'sub' bags and if they get used anyway I make a point of pulling them off before I pack the goods (usually meat) away and leaving them on the checkout.

They soon get the message and begin to recognise you in the shop. They might think you are a bit of a crank but remember - the customer is always rightsmiley - silly.

PS Go and check out 360 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/360/. It is a sister site of h2g2 and all your convo's from both show up on your Personal Spacesmiley - ok
