It's very thorough. Including tantalising descriptions of photo of Bush dancing nude on a table, apparantly out there somewhere...
ok, maybe you won't read it now.

When anyone mentions media hysteria and the culture of fear, I always point them towards two things:
http://www.anxietyculture.com and the (more academic) work of Frank Furedi.
So that's what I'll do here

I remember someone earlier in this conversation disputing what's officially under the heading "the media." I tend to describe it as the holdings of the three big network moguls here in America - ABC/Disney, AOL/Time Warner/Turner, and Viacom/Paramount - who own, well, everything:
http://www.media-awareness.ca/eng/issues/mediaown/owners.htm
Of course, that's just my look on it. Webloggers, for instance, or independant filmers (even the semi-independants of the 70's and 90's) I don't list under "the media."
Oh, and I loved the scene where the the PR guy was explaining how he couldn't see how the columbine kids could be so violent and aggressive, and suggested anger management classes - all in front of a backdrop of ICBMs. =P

For the UK, I'd add Murdoch to that list. Anyone else?

Digression, Digression...
I saw Bowling for Columbine on Thursday night, actually. It was an excellent film, funny but sobering in some parts.
What irritated the hell out of me was all the 'I guess we'll never know why they did this' blah blah. It was highschool. 'nuff said. I have a pretty good idea of what drove them to it...Hell, there but for the grace of God went I...
