So she does try to break things just to see how sturdy they are? If so, then I guess you've found a counterexample...but I still say your daughter's an exception to the rule.

Actually what my daughter does is TAKE exception to the rules
I think she takes after my younger sister who used to conduct little gravity and agility experiments on the cat...

Poor kitty. Are you familiar with the buttered cat theory?

Well, if you ask me, there may not be rules but there are tendencies.

I have seen 'em!
Do I get the prize for 'best joining in of a conversation 32 weeks after it started without being a part of it before'?
I might even add something relevant and interesting to the conversation if I do!

i think a ot of younger boys (and older ones for that matter) like to feel in control of their stuff. and let me tell you, you're not in control unless you can bust that thing up real good. (or at least die trying). then of course theres a sense of camraderie when the thing proves itself a worthy advasary, at which time it becomes immortal in your mind, so you sleep cuddled up next to it until the night you roll over on it's exhaust and jab yourself so bad you never want to see that friggin truck again.

I had a good go at my Sindys but only cos I liked to be symetrical. I bit off a finger in a bored afternoon then had to bite the same one off on the other hand. Then it just progressed from there.
Actually, I think breaking stuff is a warped child way of seeing how it works/goes together. You don't tend to think of the afterward.
