I see my name in credits all the time.
There is an animator with my name that has worked on The Simpsons since 1995.

My pet hate is shopping as I don't enjoy the shopping experience and online supermarket shopping with either their substitute items and/or when the item is not in stock.
Another is waiting for products to be delivered by a catalogue company (it takes weeks just to deliver furniture or white goods) even when it is in stock.

PH: Table lamps that take little bulbs. The bulbs never last, and of course they're non standard, so best avoided... except that they have taken over now.

I haven't needed to replace any of the LEDs I've bought in recent years.

Poor quality through designed obsolescence.
Either that or kids don't flick the switch properly and it fuses them. The lightbulbs, that is, not the kids.

It's official, incandescent bulbs are a technology of the past.
How do I know it's official?
EZ-Bake™ Ovens now come with built in heating coils.

It's the lamps with dimmer switches that burn out the quickest.
PH – when they only sell vanilla DVDs and put all the extras on Blu-Ray.
In fact, a petty hate is DVDs that don't have a decent booklet enclosed. Don't the film studios care about the films they make anymore?

That's a fair cop – I can't dispute that. After all, a lot of entries I've written for h2g2 lately have been about Aardman, Disney, DreamWorks and Pixar animated films that I've enjoyed with my kids…

And there's nothing wrong with any of those (apart from "Frozen" of course)

I dislike the DVD inserts that are all adverts or offers for something else.

I hate the way the credits - even the leading actors' names - are written in very tiny, very tall, thin print on the back. And if there's no booklet, there's no way of finding out who plays who except by scrolling to the end of the film and playing the credits at half speed. Or going and looking it up on IMDB, which, as we have learned above, is not always correct.

That tiny, tall, narrow print always reminds me of those puzzles you used to get in kids' comics where you had to hold the page up horizontally in front of you to read the elongated letters to decipher what was written.
Happy days!

As far as the credits go, I find IMDb to be quite reliable. They also list credits that you won't find on disc covers or even in the films.
Their quotes, trivia, &c may be a bit shaky sometimes, but their credits are what they do well, and professionally. They ARE the source for many in the business with IMDb Pro.

Oh - it wasn't on this thread. Who just said that IMDB wasn't reliable?

PH: Cancer
Okay, it's not a petty hate, but I'm effing hating it right now. A friend of mine was first diagnosed about a month after my brother died if it, and now he's finally been told he's got 6 months left.
We've just been on a Farewell Tour of Manchester breweries and bars, and I'm at the point where if cancer we a person it'd be going home in an ambulance.

It's been over a week now and nobody's given us our 16,000th petty hate. I'm going to count that as a petty hate of my own.
